People & Culture Specialist

The People & Culture Specialist is a critical cross-functional role responsible for HR administration and recruiting at Teamworks. Reporting to the VP of People & Culture, the individual in this role will help Teamworks to maintain its rapid growth rate while maintaining the best-in-class culture that has resulted in our company winning the Triangle Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” two years in a row. The People & Culture Specialist will play a key administrative and operational role supporting Teamworks employees.

We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated and resilient, has knowledge of HR functions, and has a demonstrated history of effective problem solving and exceptional communication. The ideal candidate for this role has worked 1-3 years as an HR generalist, or 1-3 years in recruiting and wants to become more well-rounded in HR. Because Teamworks is a growth-stage company, willingness to move fast, roll up your sleeves, admit mistakes, and be hungry to learn is a requirement. In Six Months, 

  • You have built relationships with employees across the company and are beginning to add significant value to the People & Culture department.
  • You have learned and can implement Teamworks’ core HR processes (e.g. hiring, onboarding, performance management).
  • You are learning the nuances of our industry and our employees, spending time with teammates, candidates, and our recruiting partners to ensure Teamworks’ culture is aligned with the needs of the company.
  • You have developed strong working partnerships with our Manager of People & Culture and VP, People & Culture, ensuring our strategy, operational execution, and financial planning are consistently in lockstep.
 
Activities To Achieve Success

  • Contribute to day-to-day operations and administration of the People & Culture department, including recruiting, on-boarding, benefits, compensation, reporting and analytics.
  • Keep company and employee records organized and easily accessible with a focus on data integrity and security.
  • Operate as the point person between hiring managers and our recruiting partners.
  • Respond to & resolve employee requests & inquiries.
  • Maintain employment files and record-keeping compliance.
  • Support execution of wellness activities.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart.
  • Organize training and development sessions.
 
 
Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Human Resources best practices
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Strong customer service experience in a team environment
  • Adaptive, resilient, able to negotiate and influence behavior toward positive outcomes
  • Strong time management, detail-orientation, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize
  • Project management skills and experience managing multiple projects.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of an organization
  • Able to communicate to a wide audience and translate complex human resources issues and concepts into understandable terms
  • Effective problem solving/decision making skills
  • Proficient in the design and delivery of presentations
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an HR role
  • Strong aptitude and interest in analyzing data and generating reports
  • Extremely high ethical standards and the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
