Position Overview
The TWM Residency team is seeking skilled and dedicated educators in Western Massachusetts to serve as Program Supervisors for the TWM Residency program for the 2019-2020 school year.
TWM is a partnership founded by Holyoke Public Schools, the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership, and other local education partners, with support from the Irene E. and George A. Davis Family Foundation and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Additionally, we're joined by several local charter schools. Collectively, we represent 30 schools serving more than 11,000 students in Western Massachusetts.
The TWM Residency is an innovative teacher preparation program that, in partnership with schools in Western Massachusetts, is committed to increasing the diversity of the teacher workforce to better reflect the local student population, and to training teachers to fill high needs areas such as ESL, Middle School Math, and Special Education.
The program identifies, prepares, and supports candidates to teach in a TWM partner school through an intensive 14-month residency culminating in initial certification. In order to best support and instruct the vibrant, diverse student populations within our partner schools, it is our top priority to ensure that we have the best educators in every classroom. TWM Residency Program Supervisors will play a critical role in this effort by providing new teachers with weekly observations, feedback, and coaching debriefs as they begin their experiences in Western Massachusetts classrooms throughout the 2019-2020 school year.
