Early Childhood Education Specialist

 
Do you want to work for one of the largest nonprofits in Durango and make a difference for kids and families? Tri-County Head Start is seeking an experienced Full-Time Early Childhood Education Specialist.

This position is responsible for overall program compliance with the child development performance standards and state licensing for Head Start and Early Head Start. The ECE Specialist leads the development and tracking of Tri-County Head Start’s School Readiness Goals and child assessments. The position supports curriculum implementation at all center locations. This position oversees professional development and coaching for staff within our program. Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, Teaching Strategies Gold, ECERS, ITERS, and CLASS Observations required. 

The ideal candidate has strong and effective analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, organization, ability to work in a team or as a project lead and the ability to prioritize effectively. 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or directly related degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in ECE specific coursework. Working knowledge of personal computers, database programs, internet and email systems. Experience working with ChildPlus, Teaching Strategies PDIS, and Google Suite of products preferred. 

Salary/Benefits: Annual salary range $35,880 to $43,424.64; based on education and experience. Benefits include a Minimum Essential Coverage plan with employee’s cost paid for by TCHS and option to enroll dependents. There is an option to buy up into another limited medical plan with payroll deductions bi-weekly. Health benefits along with Dental, Vision and Aflac are available for enrollment on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. Additional benefits include sick, personal and annual leave. Option to sign up for a 401 (b) plan after one year of employment.
