Associate Producer

Summary:
 
Tangent Games is looking for an Associate Producer to support its new action adventure game's production efforts. The Associate Producer will work with Project Leadership to champion the project's schedule, team planning, and core systems. Most importantly, the Associate Producer works with our teams to foster a collaborative spirit that encourages everyone to help find the right ideas and the best solutions.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Day-to-day production schedule and planning 
  • Team task tracking
  • Report in regularly to project Producer regarding ongoing status and plan for implementation of the gameplay goals
  • Contribute to and/or assist Senior Producer in current and future product development needs. Including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining and enhancing creative relationships with inside resources and external partners, as well as independent contractors 
    • Reviewing and evaluating competitive products 
    • Evaluating product concepts and design 
    • Maintaining and enhancing necessary processes and procedures for product development 
  • Manage and/or assist Producer in the day-to-day production issues through analytic thinking and information gathering. Includes:
    • Breaking down large or complex projects into meaningful subprojects 
    • Assimilating diverse information and assessing the impact on each piece of the project as well as on the project as a whole 
    • Using project management software tools to develop detailed project plans and to track status 
    • Identifying all groups that may be affected by the project, and involving them, actively soliciting their input 
    • Holding regular meetings with the project team to discuss status 
    • Resolve issues and share information and ensuring a common understanding and agreement on the project scope and objectives and on any subsequent changes
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate team schedules
  • Schedule travel
 
Requirements:
 
  • Deep knowledge of games and ability to analyze and compare different from a wide variety of games. A strong ability to work across multiple disciplines to gather feedback and address cross-functional design issues
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills 
  • Passionate player of games with an ability to analyze competitive products for their strengths and weaknesses
  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience in a product development environment
  • 1 or more published titles
  • Prior experience working with development teams
  • Previous internal team production experience
  • 4-year undergraduate college degree or equivalent skill set

  • Can-do attitude
  • Ability to create, monitor, and maintain project schedules while monitoring the progress of department goals and individual tasks
  • Proven experience producing cross-functional, creative development teams, and resources to quality and schedule goals
  • Familiarity with agile techniques, including SCRUM, Kanban, or Crystal.
  • Familiarity with Basecamp
  • Familiarity with traditional production management techniques
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge, and ability to multi-task
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), Hansoft, and bug-tracking databases 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across product development and management teams
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledgeable of current industry trends: Stays up-to-date on competitive products and best practices
