Loads and Dynamics Engineer

This position is at the newly-opening R&D center of a global leader in the wind energy industry.

  • Education: BSc or MSc in engineering
  • Previous Experience: 3-5 years
Required Knowledge:
  • Concepts about wind energy, aeroelasticity, wind turbine loads, wind turbine design standards IEC61400-1
  • Advanced written and spoken English
Valuable Knowledge:
  • Structural analysis, aerodynamics, statistics, etc.
  • Spanish language
Information Technology: 
  • Wind turbine aeroelastic calculation programs (GH Bladed, FLEX, HAWC, Fast, Phatas, etc.) 

  • Analyze the wind turbine loads and dynamics in different environmental conditions and contribute to the definition of the operational and safety strategies
  • Analyze the loads and dynamics of the wind turbines according to the design standards
  • Prepare the wind turbine models for aeroelastic calculation
  • Do loads simulation by mean of the aeroelastic codes
  • Do the necessary simulation pre and postprocessing
  • Prepare loads reports for design and certification
  • Do the test specification for the verification and validation of loads in the real wind turbine
  • Give support to the execution of those validation tests
  • Analyze the results from the load measurement tests
  • Cooperate in the design of control, operation and safety strategies
  • Possible initial training period in Spain, 3 to 6 months
  • Afterwards approx. 2 - 3 travels to Spain per year, 1-2 weeks period each
