806 - Product Engineer

We are looking for candidate responsible for designing and developing a product/product family. Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel. Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications

Job Description:

A transmission validation engineer is responsible for managing dyno durability testing and planning tests according to the program DVP&R. They will be involved from start to finish in commissioning a dyno cell, including procuring the correct parts necessary to build a dyno cart and making edits to calibrations to make them dyno-ready. The engineer will also be responsible for starting up the dyno cell that includes flashing the correct calibrations and using INCA to acquire data. The engineer will monitor the transmission’s performance over the course of the durability test. In addition, the engineer will also build transmissions for dyno testing and have post-test transmissions torn down for inspection. Teams that the validation engineer interfaces with on a regular basis includes the product release center, the chief engineer organization, the calibration team, the dyno-test management team, as well as dyno mechanics and lab mechanics. Transmission Validation Engineer will also be responsible for supporting Taxi Fleet Testing.  Transmission Validation engineer will also perform duty cycle analysis of test data.
Basic Requirements:

B.S. Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree. 3+ years of experience. Engineer must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project). MatLab experience is a plus.  Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and have a positive attitude.
Preferred Requirements:

Preferred candidates will hold a Master’s degree in Engineering and/or have experience in transmission design, development, and testing. Specific experience with software, calibration, and/or thermal management I  desired. An understanding of transmission operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired. Working knowledge of NX/Teamcenter Design for Six Sigma certification and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) is also desired. In addition, experience with transmission testing procedures, in vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued. Preference given to those with a minimum of 4 years engineering experience and those with a minimum of 1 years of automatic transmission related experience.
