Manufacturing Specialist

We are looking for a Manufacturing Specialist to join our growing team in our Ann Arbor based headquarters. This individual will work as a part of the production team, manufacturing next-generation sequencing kit reagents in concordance with established procedures and ISO 13485 guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manufacture genomic next-generation sequencing library reagents and kits according to defined protocols
  • Maintain clean room manufacturing facilities and equipment
  • Maintain and monitor production freezers and equipment
  • Document work in concordance with quality system guidelines
  • Assist Logistics team with movement of product from production to shipping
  • Assist with physical inventory processes

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes
  • Assist Logistics with product packaging and shipping
  • Assist R&D with beta kit builds
  • Perform other duties as required

Reporting Relationships
  • This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager

  • Manual dexterity
  • Excellent laboratory skills, including the ability to accurately and precisely measure volumes, weigh solids, make solutions and dilutions, and dispense liquids into small tubes and plates
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment including multichannel pipettes, repeating pipettes, and centrifuges.
  • Experience handling enzymes, DNA, and RNA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility to handle several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Experience with computers, Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 or ability to adhere strictly to defined protocols and procedures

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or chemistry
