Overview
Surprise HR, Inc. is looking for an Executive Assistant to our leadership team — the position is available now and is full-time, located in our Raleigh, NC office. The EA will drive strategic alignment and accountability across the company through operational program management and management of strategic initiatives based on the priorities of the executive team.
As a partner to your assigned executive, you will have far-reaching impact across the organization with a front-row seat to the inner-workings of a high-growth startup. This is a strategic, 1-1 partnership that requires thoughtfulness, confidentiality, and a supreme bias for optimization. Equivalent roles in other companies would be called Executive Business Partner. It will be within your scope of responsibilities will be to:
- Represent the executive through phone, email and chat with internal and external stakeholders including investors, business partners, and c-level executives
- Plan team off-sites and team-building events
- Build cross-functional internal relationships, representing the office of the executive you support
- Prioritize a complex calendar, and implement systems to help scale the office of the executive you support
- Plan travel effectively, at least monthly
- Act as a key stakeholder on special projects as needed
About You
We value superb communication skills — verbal and written. The ideal partner can confidently run executive staff meetings and navigate complex calendaring, with an ability to gracefully context-switch between both with ease. As a trusted member of the office of the executive, you will be a confidante on all topics relating to company operations, prioritization, and feedback. Above all, your approach to the role should be to think like a business-builder.
Some of the responsibilities that excite you are:
- To assist the executive you support with a wide range of tasks, from calendar management to research, to organizing their time to be more effective
- Ideally you are able to prioritize your time and delegate low-impact, but necessary tasks (e.g. helping other executives with their overflow items, etc.)
- To assist with internal meetings and synthesize information into useful and actionable notes
- If you are looking to push your boundaries, work closely with leadership and the founders, to be the directly responsible individual in charge of the administrative strategy of a rapidly growing Silicon Valley startup — this position is for you.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Top-50 university (for local NC State, UNC, Duke preferred)
- 2-3 years professional working experience
- At a high-growth technology company would be ideal (startups included)
- Career-focused and wanting to work long hours in an impact-heavy role
- Extremely organized and Type-A
- Has experience or is capable of organizing a high volume of travel and a busy schedule
- iOS, MacOS user
- Proficient Google Suite user (Word, Excel)
- Typing at 50+ wpm
