Senior Finance Manager

THE ROLE:
SquareTrade’s European team is expanding and looking for a Senior Finance Manager, based in London.  You will be part of a small team of professionals working to maintain control and transparency of the company’s International finances.  Your goal will be to contribute to building an effective finance department and help the wider team understand financial results and impacts.  This role is best suited to someone who sees efficiencies and makes improvements in all that they do.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ownership of the month end close process to strict deadlines, including strong balance sheet control
  • Treasury management – managing short term cash flow forecasting and ensuring consistency with the long term plan
  • Statutory and FCA reporting 
  • Insurer relationships including monitoring profit and reserves positions
  • Transfer pricing 
  • Inventory accounting 
  • Management of VAT reporting and reconciliation across Europe (currently in 10 countries)
  • Continuous improvements to financial control/workings to further streamline the finance function, including ensuring adequate process documentation 
  • Providing finance and operational support to the wider business and impact operational change, for example new client launches
  • Assist with other accounting projects on an adhoc basis

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 2 years PQE gained in industry
  • ACA qualified with first time passes with excellent academics
  • Strong organisational skills and determination to get things done
  • VAT exposure
  • Experience in cash flow forecasting and management
  • Strong technical skills
  • Experience of complex accounting structures
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (pivot tables and lookups are essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
