We are SoPost and we are working to build the most powerful product sampling platform in the world, with a focus on relevance, data and analytics.
We've managed to get to this point in time with a single team of engineers and designers which has grown steadily. However, recently we decided to split the team up into logical sub-teams, one of which is the Product Team. The product team are responsible for designing, building, and engineering new features and developments in our product, and you will be responsible in ensuring that the product team are delivering these to a quality that complies with our internal grading standards.
Currently, the team has no dedicated leader and that is where you come in. The role will be split about 60:40 in favour of leadership. The rest of your time will be spent adding capacity to the team with design or engineering tasks depending on your background. If you're looking for a role that allows you to write code or produce design solutions all day long, this is not the right role for you. However, if you get joy from leading others and motivating your team members to take ownership of their part in your team's success, then this role is most certainly for you.
As a leader, hiring people into your team will be one of the first things you will be required to do. It goes without saying that experience in hiring is an essential part of your application. Once your team is at the right capacity, you're then ready to find your stride in getting the right balance of working with your team and leading your team.
You will be leading people, so you must have previous leadership experience and be able to communicate your enthusiasm for this in your interview. At SoPost leadership is so much more than management and we'll talk about this in your interview.
