Hours/Employee Type: 40hrs/wk, Exempt
Position Description: The Systems Engineer is responsible for site location support. Responsibilities include the upkeep, configuration, and operation of computer systems; including multi-user computers, such as servers. Organize, install, and support the organization's devices to work with their computer systems.
Responsibilities:
Technical
- Coordinate priorities with numerous functional areas to ensure timely completion
- Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware in a multi-domain environment(Windows 10 and Linux) using standard business and administrative packages; and may modify specific applications for use in operational departments
- Install and configure computers; and monitor network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware
- Configure devices and servers as necessary
- Troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues, and makes repairs and corrections where required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing and operation; knowledge of the application of computer software for automating highly diverse agency/organization activities
- Capability and capacity of various software products/communication utilities
- Knowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications
- Knowledge of micro/mini/mainframe computer operating systems
- Knowledge of local area network concepts and fundamentals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented and capable of completing multiple time-sensitive tasks
- Must be able to prioritize workloads
- Must thrive in fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office
Education and Experience Requirements
- 4-6+ years related experience; to include technical analysis, systems programming, and computer service/repair
- 8570 Compliance - Network+ and Security+ preferred
- Top Secret Security Clearance Required
- SOF experience is preferred
Working Environment
- Office environment, except when on temporary duty or travel assignment
Travel
- Minimal travel may be required as needed and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
