Entry Level Service Technician

Preserve the good condition and functionality of Equipment, materials, etc. serviced by Smith Hamilton, Inc. Perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as cleaning, equipment installations, wiring, etc.

A Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal technician will be able to work autonomously, or in a team responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain customer relationships and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Start to finish ownership of assigned service calls
  • Represent Core Values, Vision, and Mission of Smith Hamilton, Inc. and built the Smith Hamilton brand
  • Maintain personal relationships with customers
  • Service, repair, install, maintain all equipment required by customer (eg. safes, vaults, atms, mechanical locks)
  • Inspect alarm systems and conduct repairs when needed
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Care and maintenance of supplied vehicle (eg. oil changes, tire rotations), and general appearance, coordinating with supervisor when necessary
  • Maintain proper inventory of parts, tools, and contract equipment
  • Seek educational opportunities of industry, equipment, practices, licensing, and customer service
  • Effectively enter accurate data in service management system
  • Accurately report time, expenses, mileage, etc. in a time effective and consistent manner based on company protocols
Requirements
  • Proven experience as technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, heights, and other uncomfortable conditions as necessary
  • Ability to use ladder
  • Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Workable knowledge of iPhone, Windows based operating systems, and SalesForce are preferred
  • Occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Ability to obtain necessary local / state / federal security clearance and licensing
  • Report to Lead Technician, Service Manager, or Operations Manager per region
  • Provide support as a member of the Smith Hamilton team as needed
