PURPOSE OF JOB (Primary Deliverables):
The candidate serves as implementation lead for New Product Introductions, documenting release and change activities and completed work product, and ensuring a smooth transition to the sustaining and continuous improvement phase of product life cycle. Develops, supports, and improves manufacturing processes at SmallHD and subcontractors.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
● Work with cross-functional teams to accelerate product introduction and drive built-in quality and operational efficiencies
● Provides manufacturing engineering support by answering questions and requests
● Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service
● Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
● Assist in troubleshooting electronic and mechanical failures, devising solutions to systemic issues, and implementing solutions in-house and at sub-contractors
● Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
● Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
● Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
● Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
● Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
● Analyses data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues, draft reports, execute scorecards and conclude build success and production readiness
● Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information trends
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS DESIRED:
● BS in Engineering with 3+ years of experience with product and or manufacturing system development
● Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding on how to assemble electro-mechanical assemblies
● Experience with electronics manufacturing and ability to guide design for manufacturability
● Demonstrated experience with data collection and analysis to drive manufacturing decisions
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical information
● Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple projects
● Willing to travel both domestically and internationally
PREFERRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
● Experience with LED, LCD and AMOLED display panels and coatings
● Work well independently towards achieving the goals of the group
● Prior experience using Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, such as DFM, FMEA, DOE, CTQs, and Control plans
● Resourceful, hands-on, problem solving individual with initiative and drive to work around technical
obstacles
