SIXGEN would like to add an ambitious, dedicated, and self-motivated
Application Analyst to our team.
Primary role:
- Evolve software documentation by turning specifications and design documents into early drafts of product documentation
- Establish and define customer requirements; translate them into potential improvements
- Collaborate with core programmers and teams to create, update, and maintain product documentation and evaluations
- Understand customer workflows and author documentation on advanced topics
- Prioritize user feedback and feature requests
- Work with customer to establish a new requirements process, including the transition from Help Desk to GitLab
- Develop and monitor analytics to help prioritize software maintenance efforts.
- Participate in vendor communications, installations, testing, documentation, and the diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Analyze system capacity and modifies procedures to solve interface problems
- Design, write, test, debug, and maintain software applications to meet technical and functional requirements
- Interfaces with multiple channels depending on scope to provide demos and application walk-throughs and trainings
- Develop and manage effective working relationships with departments and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced
- Provide training and assistance for users, programmers and other staff
- Prepare and maintain reports using application reporting tools
Additional Tasking Can Include:
- Assist in engineering activities to transition/convert mission data flows from legacy systems to client modernized data flow architecture
- Assess current data flow processes, define technical and process improvements to achieve increased mission efficiency, system performance, data quality and integrity, data minimization and legal compliance
- Assess and define technical requirements and processes for data flow and data quality monitoring, reporting and visualizations
- Coordinate with various development teams in and other mission stakeholders
- Work closely with Lead Engineer and System Integrator/Database Architect
Required Experience:
- ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE
- Willingness to learn GitLab and work as a teammate within an agile software development cycle
- Strong communications skills with the ability to convert the needs of non-technical users into technical requirements
Experience Differentiators:
- Previous experience and extensive understanding of Foreign Policies and Exchange Programs, Military Intelligence, and US Army missions
- Computer-based training administration
- Help Desk experience with software maintenance is preferred
- Experience with a scripting language
- Experience providing assistance to users
- Experience with maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of computer software
- GitLab/JIRA/ other project management and ticketing experience
Education Requirements:
- BS or BA in technical communications or related field with 10 years experience
OR
- AS/AA/2-year technical/trade school with 20 years experience
Work Schedule and Location:
- Core hours may be selected by candidate to include an 8-hour work day between 6am-6pm, 5 days per week
- Work is required in customer spaces in Arlington, VA
