API Integrations Developer

We are looking to add to our professional, dedicated and hard-working team an independent, talented, top-notch API Integrations Developer with a great work ethic who thrives in organizations that constantly adapt and evolve.

SUMMARY:

As part of the Product Development team, the Integrations Developer will work to build and extend the functionality of Simpleview’s Zerista products including Integrations Apps and any of the other related products and services. This is a Ruby on Rails development position. This position serves an important role by sustaining our clients’ data flow through our Zerista application. Frequent interaction is required with internal and external software developers, project managers, quality assurance staff and other stakeholders involved with delivering integration implementations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom and complex Event integrations, including modifications and custom code in conformance with the company’s development policies and procedures.
  • Provide problem-solving support for complex integration development related issues.
  • Exchange knowledge and expertise with other integration developers, as well as product developers.
  • Collaborate with on and offshore integration teams.
  • Comply with all IT policies and procedures, and verify deliverables meet Information Security requirements.
  • Participate in design, code, and test peer review sessions throughout the life cycle to identify tuning/optimization opportunities and issues.
  • Champion and assist with the continual refinement, execution, and management of the company’s structured integration development model, development toolkit, standards, and key policies and procedures related to integration development.
  • Assist as needed with the technical support team.
  • Participate in shared rotating off-hours on-call technical support.
  • Provide ongoing support on all production interfaces (off-hours on-call problem resolution) as required.
  • Assist with troubleshooting activities in conjunction with client technical support team. Review system requirements and cross-application impact for installing patches/fixes provided in accordance with change control processes.
  • Managing time against multiple assigned projects as a part of the integration development team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong fundamentals in Ruby, outside the context of Rails
  • Experience with Rails as a JSON API and implementation best practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge (hands-on development preferred) of software development using Ruby on Rails.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML and XML
  • Demonstrated knowledge (hands-on development preferred) of experience writing ruby scripts and connecting to 3rd party APIs using REST, SOAP and other creative solutions outside the normal scope.
  • 2+ years of work experience or Bachelor of Computer Science, engineering degree
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
  • Understands technology and application development methodologies used to perform systems analysis, testing and debugging
  • Excellent attention to detail intermixed with solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of, or experience with JIRA, Git, or similar tools as well as release management methodologies
  • Experience with agile software development life cycle (SDLC) preferred
