Our client, a Southern Alberta food processing operation, is looking for a fulltime, permanent Production Manager to join their team. This individual will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for the supervision of daily functions, providing effective guidance to teams, and making a positive contribution to continuous improvement efforts.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Monitoring daily processing activities; completing daily reports and records
* Developing a growing team of 6 – 10 people, by supervising, training, performance monitoring, and coaching employees
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives in regards to employee safety, food safety, quality, effectiveness, and costs
* Managing documentation related to employees; absences, vacation, banked time, etc.
* Adhering to all OH&S and company safety requirements
* Maintaining adequate level of supplies to meet manufacturing objectives
* Meeting targets while operating within budget
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years of previous management experience; preferably in manufacturing
* 3+ years of previous experience in the food production industry; specifically cheese
* Technical aptitude to identify, report, troubleshoot, and correct faults
* Detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills
* Capable of making decisions, with a ‘hands-on’ approach to motivating and managing a team
* Ability to commute to the Coalhurst area

* HACCP Certification
Compensation & Hours:
* The salary is expected to be $50K - $70K/yr. depending on experience
* This is a fulltime position; 8 – 10 hours/day, 6 days/week
