Our client, a busy trucking company in Taber, AB, is searching for an ambitious General Manager to oversee day to day operations and establish strong relationships internally and externally to achieve the organization’s objectives. In this 24/7 industry, the right person will be a relationship builder, a forward thinker, and an action taker.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Providing leadership to a diverse team within the office, shop, and driving departments; directing work, monitoring performance, and building skills and abilities of team
* Being a role model for health and safety procedures
* Going beyond the expectations of customer service
* Taking an entrepreneurial approach to gaining new clients as well as strengthening current clientele base
* Defining project purpose/scope and allocating resources
* Completing reports and maintaining logs
* Developing and implementing financial tactics to ensure business performance and growth
* Analyzing and improving processes and policies
* Forecasting goals for sales, gross, and key expenses
* Monitoring for integrity and compliance with company/government regulations, as well as customer requirements
Required Qualifications:
* Can reliably commute to Taber
* Familiarity with the transportation industry
* Post-secondary education in Business related field or equivalent experience
* Superior level of integrity
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Analytical approach to problem solving
* Dedication to safety within the workplace
* Proficiency in MS Word & Excel

Compensation & Hours:
* The rate of pay is expected to be $70 - $90K annually
