Dialysis Nurse (RN)-Acute

Required skills & experience (the 5 “must haves” to be considered)

1. Current nursing license in the applicable state.

2. 1+ year of dialysis experience required.

3. Associates degree or BSN preferred.

4. Current CPR certification

5. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; current CPR certification; Nephrology certification within one (1) year of eligibility to take test.



What you need to know

• Pay Rate: ~$30/hr. avg. (this will annually pay out to an average of $50-60K DOE)

• These positions will sit in Austin, TX

• Relocation is included in compensation package for out-of-area candidates

• These acute roles are standard, 40-hour per week roles



Major Duties:



1. Understands basic renal function and the consequences of renal failure. In addition, understands the underlying disease processes contributing to necessary dialytic and related therapies. Provides, directs, and supervises the care of the patients undergoing hemodialysis, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, and other therapeutic treatment modalities supported by the Acute Dialysis Program. In addition, shows an awareness of the general course of all patients on treatment. 



2. Provides direction and education to the Acute PCTs under their supervision.



3. Uses professional discretion in critical or emergency situations and directs the necessary intervention. Recognizes changes in patient’s condition on dialysis and makes necessary adjustments in their therapy. Notifies the physician in a timely manner, providing the appropriate information, and implements physician’s orders.
