Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is seeking a computational scientist with outstanding skills for the development of structure-based drug design methods for use in the refinement of computationally predicted atomic models. The ideal candidate is a scientist experienced in the application, development, and refinement of methods for atomic-scale structure-based drug design. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to build novel algorithms but also be comfortable building on top of existing ones. The candidate should also work well in a collaborative environment and be eager to adopt good software engineering practices.

Required qualifications include:
- Ph.D. in computational chemistry, computational biology, chemical physics, or related fields
- Unix/Linux, Fortran/C/C++, Python experience
- Experience developing scientific tools to validate novel algorithms
- Peer-reviewed publications in computational chemistry, chemical physics, and/or computational biology.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable qualifications include:
- Experience with protein-loop prediction algorithms.
- Experience with homology modeling and the relationships between sequence and structure.
- Experience incorporating orthogonal pieces of data to find solutions to problems.
- Broad knowledge of algorithms used in computational drug discovery

Pay and perks:
Schrödinger understands that it’s people that make a company great. Because of this, we’re prepared to offer a competitive salary, stock options, and a wide range of benefits that include healthcare (with dental and vision), a 401k, pre-tax commuter benefits, a flexible work schedule, and a parental leave program. Our company culture is relaxed but engaged, and we have four weeks of paid vacation time. Our Administrative and Human Resources departments also plan a myriad of fun company-wide events - last summer we went tubing down the Delaware River! New York is home to our largest office, but we have teams all over the world.
