Schrödinger is looking for an exceptionally talented scientific software developer to join our New York-based development team. Our team’s mission is to facilitate breakthroughs in computer-aided chemical discovery by delivering methods with unprecedented levels of accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of software development fundamentals and test-driven development experience, along with a scientific background in computational Chemistry, Biology or Physics. Previous experience in professional software development is not required, but an interest in adopting best engineering practices is.
Required qualifications include:
- Ability to write clear, highly organized, and maintainable code
- Intermediate-level knowledge of the Python programming language
- Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related fields
Desirable qualifications include:
- Experience writing object-oriented code
- Experience with C/C++ development
- Experience applying molecular simulation and QM methods in model validation
- Experience modeling small molecules and proteins
