About the Product Marketing Manager

Scatter is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our team. The Product Marketing Manager is the most cross-functional role at the company, sitting at the nexus between product, marketing, strategy, and finance. The Product Marketing Manager’s focus is bringing Scatter’s product(s) to market and developing strategies to increase customer adoption, MRR and brand awareness. You will also develop innovative and strategic marketing programs behind our content productions to drive demand. You will be working very closely and collaboratively with both our Product and Marketing teams, reporting to Scatter’s CMO. 

We’re seeking a self-initiated analytical thinker with creative problem-solving skills, who will thrive in a growing startup environment. You have an investigative approach and a strong market research background. Data informs your creativity and you creatively find new ways to think about the challenges. Knowing how to use the analytics tools is a part of the role, and the key skill is how to interpret and use the data and industry learnings you’ve collected to unlock insights and translate analyses to help inform strategic, marketing and product decisions. Your focus is market adoption built on data, market evidence and strategic insights. You should be able to break down the complex into the simple, understand risks and opportunities. You ensure we’re tracking performance, and have the data to prove what’s working and what isn’t.

You need to be someone with a strong marketing background with a penchant for creativity, strong project management skills, and an excellent communicator. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage competitive intelligence and comparisons by working with cross-functional stakeholders (CPO, CMO, CEO) and executing self-lead research
  • Market Analysis — Collaborating with CPO and Product team on competitive analysis. Make strategic recommendations to Product and Marketing executive teams based on data and market learnings
  • Customer Insights - Gaining insight into customer needs and experiences through surveys, customer interviews and data analysis
  • Product Value Proposition — Develop User and Buyer Personas to build deep understanding of product value to our customers
  • Go-To-Market Plan — Owning the GTM, develop KPIs and how are we measuring success for our business, including a user acquisition plan, strategy, forecasting, measuring and tactics.
  • Content Strategy — Collaborating on content strategy against business objectives. Content including original and 2nd party productions and marketing initiatives.
  • Execute — Drive Pre-Launch, Launch and Post-Launch plan(s)
  • Metrics — Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support our product(s) on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
  • Develop insights, tracking and reporting on Scatter’s product(s) messaging. Analyze sales data and channel information and then make recommendations and/or plans to improve. 
  • Track performance of practice strategy through measurement and analysis of market penetration, opportunity creation and funnel management
  • Customer Adoption — Develop and evolve market segmentation for each product offering. Identify and manage audience segments for use with targeted campaigns.
  • Market and Customer Validation — Continuously validating our product(s) with customers and continue to focus on positioning in the market in collaboration with Product team across user testing, user segmentation, positioning, pricing, etc. 
  • Improving our existing paid acquisition channels, and introducing new, relevant, successful paid marketing channels. 
  • Develop growth strategies with the executive team. Build and implement strategies to grow revenue effectively.
  • Monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth.
  • Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner with marketing, product, and leadership teams to influence the overall GTM strategy of the product. 

Qualifications

  • Previous working experience in Product Marketing, Marketing or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in market analysis.
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
  • Experience managing third-party information and research providers (e.g., comScore, eMarketer, App Annie)
  • Proven track record in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical mind and proficiency with analytical tools.
  • Creative thinker with a vision.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Comfortable using CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce.
  • Familiar with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot and Omniture, and Google Analytics.
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics WebTrends, Segment, etc)
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
