Cloud Support Engineer

Your Mission 

As the Cloud Support Engineer, you will be responsible to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions as well as the cloud-based systems that support our customers, vendor partners, and the services we offer. The Cloud/Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, team leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maintain, monitor, upgrade our systems, and to help identify, communicate and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

  • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow security, compliance controls, and conformance to established security standards
  • Provides Cloud Technology Services support, including off-shift support, for medium to complex incidents & requests for cloud services like PaaS and IaaS
  • Oversees and documents IT security aspects of the Enterprise Architecture, including vulnerability assessment, design, access, and authentication
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the information security strategy
  • Researches, designs and advocates new technologies, architectures, and security products
  • Audits security infrastructure and supports security policies and procedure

Expectations

Required Travel - 10% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events
Client Facing - 50% 
Training - ongoing with first week orientation at HQ followed by a 90 day onboarding schedule. Details of timeline can be shared.

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:
  • 5 years of experience with systems or cloud administration.
  • 3 years experience with Cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Required Experience: 
  • Experience managing Azure, AWS, or GCP environments 
  • Demonstrating knowledge of one container technology such as Docker, and at least two database technologies such as MySQL, MS-SQL, or Postgresql
  • Working with code management tooling such as Github / Gitlab
  • Possessing experience with Linux and Windows administration
  • Establishing proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities exist for all components of the platform
  • Demonstrating leadership, influencing and communication skills, as well as the ability to drive continuous performance improvements with stakeholders, vendors and technology subject matter specialists
  • Possess a firm understanding of the offerings within GCP, AWS, and Microsoft Azure platforms
Useful Experience:
  • Working with CI/CD pipeline tooling and deployments
  • Documenting SOPs, and perform knowledge transfer to others
  • Demonstrating fluency in at least two development languages such as Java, Perl, PHP or Python
  • Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth, OpenID, etc)
  • Experience working with cloud security and governance tools, cloud access security brokers (CASBs), and server virtualization technologies.
