Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, specifying quality, quantity and delivery schedules
Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors
Work closely with Superintendents to seek clarifications and expedite orders
Issue purchase orders for both supplies & services, closure of purchase orders (PO) and resolve discrepancies between invoice, PO and receipt
Manage delivery of goods and services ordered to the vessels and ensure proper receipt by the vessels
Assist Superintendent in closing monitoring of Class / Statutory / Oil Major, Surveys and follow up with vessel for timely closure of any outstanding issue
Assist Superintendent in tracking of Class / Statutory Certificates and ensure timely renewal and original certificates are available onboard without jeopardizing vessel operation
Arrange Lube Oil test kits onboard and follow up on lube oil analysis report with the appointed laboratory
Monitor cooling water and boiler water treatment test report and submit to appointed laboratory for analysis
Coordinate with vessel on calibration of instrument and servicing of equipment ie BA set, extinguishers, life raft and etc
Job Requirements
Recognized Marine technical qualification/experience either at sea or university, or suitable experience in similar position in marine industry
Diploma holder (preferably in marine/mechanical engineering or supply chain management) with 2-3 years of relevant experience are welcomed to apply
Well versed with International Standards and Classifications, strong in Excel spreadsheets for repairs/drydocks cost controls.
Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
Good interpersonal skills to work closely with all teams
