Solution Engineer (Pre-sales)

  • The Solutions Engineer is a technical sales consultant for new prospective accounts and new business opportunities within existing accounts. Candidates will create and leverage relationships with customers and partners within the Salesforce ecosystem as a trusted advisor. There will be a combination of direct solution sales, as well as joint sales, working with Salesforce and other channel partners.
     
    The Solutions Engineer will need strong business acumen to perform detailed process discovery with prospects, demonstrate solution selling, create a statement of work, present the proposed solution, handle objections, track and close the sale. Follow up on projects and existing customers will help ensure customer satisfaction and open new opportunities. We work as a team to ensure long-term success and deliver solutions that our customers can count on.
     
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    • Manage and track all phases of the sales cycle, log activities and detailed and organized notes, in our CRM
    • Actively prospect, score and identify leads, pursue, and qualify potential customers
    • Undergo deep, technical business process discovery to understand all scope requirements
    • Understand and present Salesforce and other technology solutions independently or through joint sales
    • When required, create custom demo environments and build ‘proof of concepts’ to further sales initiatives
    • Use best practices to create a statement of work or proposal, and present solution to client
    • Act as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales process, providing outstanding service
    • Develop trusted and synergetic relationships with Salesforce and other channel partners
    • Coordinate client meetings (in-person, phone, and web), always being punctual and reliable
    • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the customers’ dedication and assist delivery team
    • Respond to complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner, aiming for customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation
    • Stay up to date with new features and product launches from Salesforce and other technology partners
    • Establish sales team best practices and monitor and report on sales performance analytics
    • Suggest innovative ideas to increase sales, improve quoting accuracy, and ensure positive customer experience
    • Meet or exceed assigned sales quota, accurately forecast sales, and manage expenses within budget
    • Other duties as assigned
     
    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
     
    • Three years’ experience with professional solution-selling in a similar role that requires business process analysis and technical proposal writing
    • Experience with configuration and implementation of the Salesforce.com platform offerings
    • Experience with industry standard market research, sales strategies, negotiating, and software demonstrations
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university and/or equivalent experience
    • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record, with ability to pass a federal background check and drug test
    • Ability to preserve confidential and sensitive customer and company information
    • Must be able to type a minimum of 55 words per minute
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% on occasion

    • Ability to work under pressure amid distractions and interruptions while maintaining a positive attitude
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to interact with clients regularly via email, phone and in-person in a timely manner. 
    • Must have high moral and ethical standards, be trustworthy, honest, and have a high regard for integrity, reliability, and positive attitude.
    • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and ability to understand business process across many industries
    • Ability to speak and write accurately and elegantly about technical software offerings and our solutions
    • Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate proper business etiquette
    • Self-starter, confident, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently or in a group
