POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within the commercial and residential settings. We are seeking a technically competent professional who strives to understand each client's unique needs and delivers exceptional solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read blueprints, SLDs or technical diagrams to install solar systems.
- Be able to get a material list based on blueprints, SLDs or technical diagrams.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with codes. (Ex. Main services needing a replacement, upgrades, or bad breakers)
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment using testing devices
- Be able to perform Service upgrades or socket replacements. (100 amp, 200 amp, 300 amp and 400 amp)
- Must submit accurate documentation (daily reports, pictures) in a daily basis.
- Enforcement and documentation of safety practices.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
- Off island Travel is required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Journeyman license and/or graduate of an accredited apprenticeship program with related work experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Degree in related field is preferred.
- Possess a Current Driver License and Reliable Transportation.
- Candidate owns their own tools
- Clean driving abstract, no DUI within 5 years.
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb, bend, kneel, balance, stoop, walk and reach. The employee will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
