Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; develops and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
- Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws
- Monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees
- Plan, direct and manages all human resources initiatives; recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations of an organization
- Manages new hire training and orientation, training checklists/materials, mandatory training and conducts compliance training for all staff statewide annually
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, terminations, and exit interviewing
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
- Maintains company organization charts
- Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Oversee staff operations, business planning and budget development of HR programs

Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or closely related field
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in human resources (extensive experience in the human resources field may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree)
- Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal skills
