Community Manager

Riaz Capital is an Oakland-based developer and operator of workforce housing specifically focusing on how to address the changing housing need of the millennial generation. Our goal is to develop housing that anyone earning area median income can proudly call a home. Our mission is to create affordable-by-design housing for the workers of the Bay Area. We see this as a strategic and sustainable place to invest resources, as the 101 municipalities of the Bay Area have failed to create an adequate supply of affordable housing.

The Community Manager will play an integral role in the success of Artthaus Studios. The all-encompassing role is an exciting hybrid, covering marketing, leasing, branding and property management. The successful candidate will be empowered to help create a brand for the building and community, while helping execute the business plan. The goal is to lease-up the building in collaboration with third-party brokers while successfully creating  a welcoming collaborative community environment. We want our tenants and guests to be excited to occupy space and have a Class A experience while becoming an integral member of our building’s community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leasing Activities:
  1. Define and manage the leasing plan
  2. Monitor renewal dates
  3. Ensure that leasing/administrative paperwork is complete and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends on a weekly basis
  4. Conduct unit tours and applicant interviews
  5. Conduct market studies

  • Finance/Accounting/Reporting:
  1. Review weekly revenue reports / delinquency reports on a bi-weekly basis
  2. Review the weekly AP report
  3. Ensure that weekly/monthly property management reports are complete
  4. Assist in budget preparation and analysis

  • Building Operations and Management:
  1. Assist with move-ins and move-outs; prepare and distribute member welcome packets
  2. Run building operations and maintenance to ensure a high level of member experience
  3. Manage key-card activation's and parking
  4. Ensuring the building is clean and well kept
  5. Ordering consumables
  6. Mail and package responsibilities as needed

  • Membership Management:
  1. Work on community initiatives designed to develop connections between members, including member introductions, event support, email and print communications
  2. Be active on the Artthaus Studios member network
  3. Solve member-related issues to ensure a cohesive community

  • Events and Community Management:
  1. Make posters and advertising media for events
  2. Assist with set-up and breakdown of events, including ordering food and beverages
  3. Prepare newsletters
  4. Manage social media, including the facebook page, instagram, and other online platforms

Experience and Requirements

  • College graduate with a four year degree preferred, but not required
  • Customer service and/or sales experience a plus
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy
  • Passion for entrepreneurial communities
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
