JOB DESCRIPTION: Director of Data Science
Rhone is transforming the way that we work to become the world’s leading data-driven retailer, and the Senior Data Scientist is central to that vision. Your mission will be to provide valuable, actionable insights that create better, more personalized experiences for Rhone’s customers across our e-Commerce, brick-and-mortar, and wholesale partner stores.
As Rhone’s Senior Data Scientist, you will dive into uncovering opportunities for building practical solutions and economic efficiencies that address Rhone’s most critical business needs, including email segmentation and targeting models, 360-degree customer profiles, customer acquisition models, and merchandise and planning support tools, among other areas of emphasis.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will work cross-functionally with all elements of the Rhone organization to identify, develop, and execute on actionable insights that improve the Rhone customer experience, our product, our business model, and our team
- You will demonstrate value through launching experiments that show a causal impact of your ideas
- You will create algorithms and dashboards for the Marketing team to analyze key performance metrics, with a heavy emphasis on user path behavior and attribution
- You will help define standards for managing data across its lifecycle at Rhone (i.e., across domain-specific data marts and operational stores, and the central data lake), and you will lead the agreement of standards and ownership that will ensure effective availability and quality of these datasets
- You will partner with the third-party data and analytics technology platforms to ensure that our licensed tools are fit for our needs and support an agile and scalable organization
REQUIREMENTS
You have a P.h.D. or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Physics, Statistics, or other highly quantitative field
You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in data-intensive companies in roles that were responsible for enterprise data management and governance
You possess practical python experience building and deploying to production machine learning models
You are inquisitive and you scrutinize functional efforts through the lens of making the customer experience and the business better
- You are able to prioritize approaches that are scientifically rigorous and deliver business value
You possess an entrepreneurial attitude and ability to drive change and navigate ambiguity when building new capabilities in an enterprise setting
- You have efficient and professional communications skills, a capacity for abstract reasoning, and a desire to learn and share knowledge
