Restorative Aide - Temporary Part-Time

Job Title: Restorative Aide - Temporary Part-Time (min. 45 hours bi-weekly)

Shift Hours: 7am - 3pm

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

The Restorative Aide reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for:

Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group restorative programs based on assessed needs and as assigned by the Supervisor – including personal hygiene, AROM, restorative eating, restorative walking, restorative transfers, bed mobility, toileting, dressing and grooming.

Assess and implement group exercise class in long term care.

Complete documentation in Activity Pro and Point Click Care ( RAI/MDS , care plans, progress notes, and initial assessments)

Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.  Monitor the behaviour and condition of residents during programs, and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.

Maintain program and resident records according to department policy.  Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.

Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications:

Has successfully completed a training program in restorative care or is enrolled in such a program, or has successfully completed relevant training course provided at the Home by a qualified Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist)

CPR and First Aid qualifications

Computer literate

Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
