We’ll try to leave out all the trite points and jargon. Here are the basics:
We're looking for people who are open to working in a variety of capacities and are self-motivated, creative, and autonomous. If you’re a problem solver, self starter and multitasker, we’re looking for you. Organizational skills are time management are a must. 

  • Calculating working interest, net revenue interest, net acres and mineral interest
  • Analyzing and interpreting oil and gas curative documents
  • Reviewing oil and gas leases for key provisions
  • Reviewing well files and well production; determining if leases are held by production
  • Reviewing right-of-way, surface use agreements, easements, and damage settlements
  • Reviewing data from subscription-based and public sources such as ICRIS, NDRIN and COGCC
  • Interpreting basic provisions of contracts affecting leasehold, including farm-ins/farm-outs, joint development agreements, joint operating agreements, unit agreements, and acreage swaps
  • Identifying title defects
  • Reviewing divisions of interest, revenue decks and joint interest billing statements
  • Aiding in the preparation of closing documents and post-closing materials for due diligence projects
  • Completing other duties as assigned by the project lead


  • Advanced understanding of the Oil & Gas surface and mineral title and the legal framework for oil & gas exploration

  • Advanced understanding of lease and well exhibits
  • Able to research, interpret, and synthesize complex data and report on a spreadsheet or database
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and online document collaboration sites (e.g. Google Docs, Box.com)
  • Experience in the Permian or Delaware Basin a strong preference
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to be flexible and adaptable to various work situations
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Experience running production checks
  • Familiarity with the Texas RRC  

  • Experience working on an due diligence project of an acquisition or divestiture nature along with a high level of familiarity with the process and intricacies therefrom 
  • Title examination knowledge
  • Degree in Energy Management/PLM, JD or MBA Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a landman role
