COMPENSATION Commensurate with experience 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing
management with assistance in performance and leadership coaching, investigative counsel and site
organizational structure. The position also supports administration of Company policies and programs,
the collective bargaining agreement, disciplinary actions, grievance procedures, unemployment
compensation, interviewing, employee orientation and training, employee records, benefits, and
busing. There is also extensive interaction with the Human Resources Manager to plan and
implement programs to meet Human Resource goals, supporting short and long-term business needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field plus 5 years relevant
experience OR 8 to 10 years of Human Resources Generalist experience (compensation,
benefits, recruiting, employee/labor relations, HRIS, management development training, EEO and compliance) 
  • Leadership qualities including: character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision.
  • A strong focus on safety and ability to lead by example
  • Extensive interpersonal relationship and effective communication skills
  • Ability to recognize the perspectives of all participants and lead accordingly
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information is critical
  • Ability to work with diverse administrative professionals at all organizational levels
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
with competing priorities in an interruptive environment required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Previous experience in a mining operation or other labor intensive industry
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment and strong understanding of collective
bargaining agreements
  • Understanding of MSHA and OSHA regulations
