We are looking to hire a highly talented Senior Android Engineer to join our growing team. You will have the opportunity to work on our very highly rated app and work on new projects that we have in store that we are working on developing. A deep knowledge of the Android platform and development in Java along with UX design are critical to this role. Experience consuming RESTful APIs and building stable, secure apps is also a must.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build advanced applications on the Android platform
- Define, design, and collaborate cross-functionally and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving our application’s performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-6 years of full-time Android work experience and a strong understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- A strong understanding of Java and Android platform APIs
- Proven working experience in Android app development and has published at least 1 original Android app on Google Play
- Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (OOP, data structures, algorithms)
- Working knowledge of general mobile landscapes, architectures, trends and emerging technologies
- Comfortable working with an existing codebase and willing to do some bug fixing to improve our application performance
- Ability to write unit tests and automated UI tests for in change the unit test line in responsibilities to be similar
Nice to have:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Experience creating image assets (e.g. SVG, PNG)
- Experience with Google Play Service and AndroidX libraries
- Experience in building apps for Internet of Things
