Field Application Scientist

We are seeking a Field Application Scientist to drive customer experience in the rapidly expanding and technologically demanding field of spatial panomics. Your customers are early adopters of a technology platform that will advance oncology, infectious disease, and life sciences broadly. Your scientific expertise is instrumental in customer success through application support, system usage training at customer sites, troubleshooting their experimental design, data analysis, and logistics.   
 
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and enthusiasm to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment. Significant time will be spent at customer locations to ensure maximize customer success. 

 Responsibilities
  • Engage in scientific discussions with customers to advance their research utilizing ReadCoor technology.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to users’ technical skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software and instruments.
  • Interpret customer needs and escalate to appropriate internal resources as necessary to maximize customer uptime and minimize customer effort.
  • Support field sales team at trade shows, seminars, and technical symposia. This will include presentations and networking.
  • Support new product development through alpha and beta tests.
  • Manage and mentor Application Associates
  • Provide efficient communication on strategic and competitive customer feedback to Sales, Marketing, and product development teams.
  • Conduct on-site customer trainings on ReadCoor’s, device, library preparation, sequencing, bioinformatics, consumables, or related products.

 Requirements
  • PhD or MSc (or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Genetics.
  • 2+ years field experience in customer training, communications, and support preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills. 
  • Knowledge of genomics, sequencing applications, and methods that apply to ReadCoor technology.
  • Proficient with general lab best practices and common Molecular Biology techniques.
  • Experience with lab or liquid handling automation helpful.
  • Capacity to interact with principal investigator-level scientists as well as bioinformaticians and laboratory personnel.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and superior presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to operate as an independent contributor and as a cooperative member of a team.
  • Ability to successfully operate in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Capacity to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
