NEWDAY is one of the only licensed and accredited addiction treatment programs in the nation that operates with a thoroughly Christian point of view. Our vision is to combine high quality professional services with the transformational power of God’s truth, grace, and hope. The NEWDAY Treatment Center serves up to 14 men at a time in a beautiful facility situated on a tranquil 95-acre property outside of Bloomington Indiana.
NEWDAY’s Ministry Residency Program is available to single, Christian males pursuing a career in ministry, counseling, or social work. It provides the opportunity to receive additional equipping, training, and experience working within the context of a Christian treatment program. Everyone within the Ministry Residency Program will be mentored by an experienced NewDay leader and work closely with two other residents.
Primary Duties:
- Assist addiction therapist with group programming
- Provide evening and weekend programming
- Participate in overnight supervision
- Lead a variety of activities—hiking, basketball, etc.
- Lead bible studies
- Assist with meal service (no cooking)
- Assist with client interactions under the guidance of the Residential Director
Qualifications:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ and agreement with NEWDAY’s Statement of Beliefs.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent ministry experience and 2 references regarding character, educational or work experiences.
- A desire to enter vocational ministry our counseling in some capacity. Each ministry resident will be provided with CPR and first aid training.
Commitment:
- Ministry Residents serve a 6-month residency. A second 6-month residency may be offered in select circumstances.
Wages:
- In addition to room and board, a monthly salary of $1,000.
