QuickSeries, a leader in content delivery for the U.S. government and military, is looking for a talented and passionate SCRUM Product Owner to join our amazing team of software engineers, quality assurance analysts and designers in our Downtown Montreal office.  Our goal is to deliver the best software solutions through our innovative and industry-leading mobile application content management system (aCMS) and platform as a service (PaaS).

Your duties and responsibilities: 
  • Take lead of scrum teams as the Product Owner
  • Support and deliver the vision to the software development team throughout the project
  • Transform business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Plan, maintain and prioritize tasks in active and future sprints to ensure an adequate number of tasks are prepared and ready to be worked on 
  • Take ownership and run the SCRUM meetings: Sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint demo and retrospective
  • Help define the product vision, road-map and improvement opportunities with the Product Management team 
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Manage backlog, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
  • Work closely with Product Management to spec, create and maintain a product backlog that is in line with company priorities, vision and strategy
  • Lead, plan and prepare product releases with the software development team
  • Play an active role in helping the software development team succeed during every sprint and release
  • Become a market expert and understand its users
  • Stay aware of our competitors and the industry 
  • Remain up to date with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Product Owner requirements and qualifications: 
  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner for 3+ years
  • BA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
  • Deep knowledge of Agile process and principles 
  • Outstanding communication (English, verbal and written), presentation and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Attention to detail
 
The following assets are a plus: 
  • First-hand coding experience
  • Understanding of front-end, back-end, API, iOS and Android terms
  • Experience with defining and design user interfaces and user experience
  • Experience managing parallel version development
  • SCRUM Product Owner certification
