Sous Chef

The Client

Our client is well established operator within the Hospitality industry and is looking for a Sous Chef to join their kitchen brigade. The chosen candidate will assist the Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen.

Main Duties
  • Ensuring that the necessary stocks are on hand at the right quality and quantity
  • Assist the Head Chef in checking that timetables, leave rosters and attendance registers are up-to-date
  • Ensuring that all statutory, as well as company, hygiene regulations are being strictly adhered to
  • Checking that regular on-the-job training is carried out so that subordinate staff perform their duties correctly
  • Assisting in the HACCP for all areas within the kitchen and its outlets
  • Conferring and communicating with the Head Chef regarding policies and procedures between kitchens and the food and beverage department

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory role​
  • Relevant qualification from ITS would be considered an asset
  • Candidate must be able to communicate in English and ideally Maltese
  • Knowledge about all Health and Safety and food handling procedures
  • Computer literate
