Technical Leader

The Client

Our Client, who is a leader in Manufacturing Sector, is currently looking for a Technical Leader to join their team.

Main Duties 
  • Manage the maintenance and technical aspects of the whole plant including machinery and equipment
  • Manage, lead and motivate the whole  team of Technicians
  • Responsible to carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment, plant equipment and plant itself
  • Take care to stock and control the use of spare parts and consumables
  • Take care to immediately rectify any breakdowns in production equipment, machinery and to keep a high standard of maintenance throughout the plant
  • Promote and drive 5S in the section and throughout the plant
  • Liaise with the Section Leaders on any corrective and immediate maintenance required on production equipment
  • Take care to ensure the section is well equipped with the right tools and instrumentation to enable staff to carry out maintenance in a professional manner
  • Take care of the tools and instrumentation to avoid damages and loss of such tools and instrumentation
  • Monitor efficiency and behaviour of staff members in the section and take any necessary corrective actions
  • Ensure tool boxes are kept organised at all times, develop and devise systems to record all the maintenance done
  • Monitor the costs of maintenance and help reduce any waste in any way possible
  • Approve leave applications for staff in the section (Future)

Requirements
  • Minimum Higher National Diploma in a technical subject and 5 years working experience as a Maintenance Technician working in a production environment
  • Have an understanding of Quality Management and willingness to work to the highest standards
  • Ensure and belief in the 5S principles
  • The right planning skills to schedule routine preventive maintenance on all equipment
  • Be a people person who understands the needs of a production environment as well as the needs of individuals
  • Be a positive problem solver and having the right attitude in resolving machine breakdowns
  • Have strong co-ordination and organisational skills, be organised, agile and technically competent
  • Be computer literate and conversant with MS applications, especially MS excel
