Risk Officer

The Client
Our client, within the Financial Services sector in Malta, they are seeking a  Risk Officer to join their dynamic team.

Main Duties
  • Prepare Risk Assessment reports and make recommendations for the mitigation of such risks
  • Review and update the Risk Management Policy in line with changes to prevailing laws, paying particular attention to risk identification, risk prevention risk monitoring and detection of the risks and their resolution
  • Compile and Maintain a Risk Register 
  • Risk Rating based on probability and potential impact of each of the risks that may be identified
  • Identity of the person responsible for the risk in question and action taken
  • Prepare of the reports for submission to the Company’s regulators and/or authorities as required in accordance with legislation
  • Ensure the implementation of the Risk Policy as approved by the Board of Directors
  • Make recommendations about suitable training courses that will instil an awareness among the members of the team in relation to risk assessment, management, and controls

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A minimum of a Finance-related degree (a qualification in Risk Management would be favourably considered)
  • An awareness of regulatory reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exposure to risk management within a financial institution, particularly within the payments industry, would be considered an asset
