The Client
Our Client, an international Legal Services advisory firm specialised in corporate finance, insurance and private equity, collective investments is currently looking for a Head of Office to join their team in Luxembourg.
Main Duties
- Act as legal counsel in corporate, banking, capital markets, trust and finance regulatory matters
- Assist the firm in attaining regulatory licenses from the Luxembourg Bar Association and its initial the set up
- Develop the firm’s Luxembourg business, build and maintain contact with existing and prospective clients
- Ensure that the firm is in compliance with the licensing rules and other legal and professional requirements of the Luxembourg Bar Association at all times
- Handle the day-to-day micro-management and oversight of the Luxembourg office in consultation with the Board of Directors of the firm, including conduct of weekly meetings with associates
- Review associate work and provide guidance and training to the associates
- Continually assess resource capacity, notifying any resource requirements to the Board of Directors, conduct interviews, selection and candidate recommendations
- Be informed about all applicable regulations, laws and recent developments and train all associates on all aspects of work
- Review client invoices and time-sheet details of all the clients prior to submission to the Board of Directors of the firm for their final sign-off
- Provide final sign off/approval on newsletters produced by the local office and act as a speaker at conferences or similar events on behalf of the firm as well as the group of affiliate offices
Requirements
- Luxembourg bar qualification, with a minimum of 4 to 5 years’ post bar exam experience, with strong people leadership and business skills
- Experience in a Luxembourg law firm in the areas of corporate, banking, capital markets, trust and finance regulatory matters
- Able to work facts in order to tailor structures to clients’ specific needs and be solutions-orientated
- Attention to detail, extreme precision and the ability to think on your feet
- Be willing to learn further, develop your skills and good team player
- Be pro-active and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Native French speaker, fluency in English and strong skills in German as a minimum
- Available as soon as possible
