We’re looking for a Corporate Hardware Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team here at QLess. In this role, you’ll be providing a few key functions in both a Hardware Engineering and Corporate IT capacity.
What you’re responsible for:
- Configure, test, deploy software for customer and corporate hardware
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of deployed customer and corporate hardware
- Respond to Hardware and IT incidents, troubleshoot, resolve, and document
- Recommend settings for applications, operating systems, networks, and cloud services to improve performance, security, and reliability of customer and corporate hardware
- Manage QLess shipping and receiving for all QLess hardware procurement
- Maintain and add new QLess hardware partnerships, negotiate better pricing and benefits for our customers as well as QLess employees
- Contribute to internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Participate in the design, implementation, and execution of new IT Policy and hardware requirements
- Perform any and all IT functions required at the QLess offices in Pasadena, including maintaining a corporate network and desktop support.
The qualifications you’ll need:
- Obsessively focused on customer satisfaction and attention to detail in your work
- A strong desire to learn and contribute across a variety of technologies and disciplines
- Love of working in a fast moving, constantly changing team environment
- Ability to quickly diagnose and solve problems collaboratively
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role required
- Working knowledge of Linux, Windows and OS/X.
- Excellent Troubleshooting knowledge of common and uncommon hardware or software issues
- Ability to create scripts in Powershell, Python, Ruby, Go, or Bash
- Understanding of technical jargon and an ability to turn that technical jargon into readable and understandable information for the everyday non-technical user.
- Working understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, and related networking protocols, technologies and security related protocols (SSH, HTTPS, IPsec, etc.)
- Knowledge of workflow tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Slack, TeamCity, etc.)
- Knowledge of Remote Tools (e.g. Bomgar, GoToAssist,Teamviewer, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to quickly identify trends and patterns and ability to identify root causes of problems and candidate solutions
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Snipe-IT, and Remote Monitoring and Management software a Plus.
