Work closely with animators and artists to create movements, gestures and expressions for characters and items, while making sure that the project’s established direction is respected;
Guide, supervise and review the other animators’ work;
Make sure that the animations respect the project’s style and standards of quality, and make adjustments when necessary;
Oversee the entire animation production for a project, including the team’s productivity, the style, quality and consistency of the animations, as well as any technical limitations, while taking into account any change in priority;
Share your expertise, knowledge and vision with the animators and the ongoing projects;
Resolve creative and technical issues as they pop up;
Coach less-experienced animators and artists by giving them advice, support and instructions, so that they can improve themselves artistically and professionally;
Attend team and department meetings;
Any other related task, as needed.
Requirements
A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in 3D animation;
Training in animation, visual arts, multimedia, or any other relevant field;
*IMPORTANT* Portfolio and/or demo (required) showcasing your diversity of style (preferably, include the URL of your website and portfolio);
Advanced knowledge of all aspects of 3D animation (modeling, rigging, lighting, shadows, texturing, weighting, animation, etc.);
Talented animator with a strong sense of weight and timing;
Initiative, resourcefulness and the ability to see projects through while supervising a team;
Experience in traditional art an asset;
Leadership and ability to motivate and supervise a team.
