ProTech Coatings is looking to hire a full-time general laborer to help complete a project in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area, which includes prevailing wages.

The General Laborer is an entry-level production support position and participates in production by supporting basic prep, product installation and job site cleanliness. This position is charged with the responsibility of assisting production, while gaining knowledge, skill and technique to advance into a Skilled Laborer position quickly. The General Laborer represents ProTech in a professional, productive and safe manner. As a growing crew member, the General Laborer will work in many phases of a project. Duties may include, but are not limited to clean up, moving & distribution of mixed materials, hand broadcasting of aggregate, surface preparation, primer & mortar application support, communication with team members, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Licensing/Registration/Certification
Preferred: Valid UT Driver’s license.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Experience
Labor experience preferred, but attitude and ambition are more important.
3. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
General understanding of construction helpful, teachable, problem solving, willingness to perform any task requested.
4. Physical
Body Positions: May be required to be bent over, extended, prone, or any number of physical positions that might be out of the ordinary for “normal” working conditions.
Body Movements: Including but not limited to: bending, lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing, kneeling, walking, hoisting.
Body Senses: Must have all 5 senses in good working order or corrected to good working order.
5. Mental
Mathematical: Construction math preferred.
Language: English is required. Spanish would be very helpful.
Mechanical: Must be mechanically oriented. Have tools and the ability to use them.
Spatial: Must have good spatial orientation and be aware of moving vehicles on the highway. Must be able to integrate into a system and perform required tasks.
6. General Qualifications
This position is subject to ProTech’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Jobsite conditions will not be climate controlled. Jobsite conditions might include but are not limited to: excessive heat, excessive cold, wind, moisture, dust, noise, solvent and other uncomfortable conditions. Night and weekend work will be required.
DUTIES AND TASKS
DAILY
· Communicate with crew personnel regularly to get all necessary information for the current phase of installation as well as the broader project scope.
· Assists as directed in pre-mob, mobilization, production and de-mob.
· Participate in production as directed by Site Foreman and/or Equipment Operators.
· Learn to understand and maintain quality control during installation.
· Promote onsite project safety through action.
· Look for ways to learn new skills.
· Be reliable with instructions and gain the trust and support of crew members.
· Attend and participate in toolbox meetings
· Encourage all crew members to represent ProTech in a safe, professional manner performing all daily tasks efficiently and profitably within published ProTech protocols and systems.
· Review daily project schedule information by email after 5:00 p.m.
· Perform shop and job site house keeping.
· Load and unload trailers and vehicles as directed.
· Show competence in clocking in and out of time tracking software.
AS NEEDED
· Attend onsite meetings as invited.
· Attend crew meetings
· Report system violations to the Director of Operations.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
· Documented growth in knowledge and proficiency with ProTech’s installation systems/methods.
· Documented growth in knowledge and proficiency with materials ProTech installs.
· Documented growth in knowledge and proficiency with equipment.
· All the above to be measured against ProTech’s published General Laborer skill sets.
· The presence of or lack of system violations.
· Safety record.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
· The General Laborer reports directly to the Foreman but receives guidance and assistance from Skilled Laborers, Concrete Finishers, Equipment Operators, Superintendents and the Project Manager as necessary.
· In the absence of the Foreman, the General Laborer reports to the assigned Skilled Laborer and/or Equipment Operator.
AUTHORITY:
The General Laborer has the overall authority to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position, consistent with established Company policies, good industry practices and sound, ethical judgment. This includes providing information, material, support service, tools, hardware, or anything else required to perform the work within the established limitations. The General Laborer has a duty to report and unsafe practices to a supervisor.
