    Overview
    The Foreman is a member of the Project Management Team and is responsible for jobsite production and project profitability, crew management and labor budgets, onsite crew training, materials management, safety, equipment maintenance, systems and methods, creating mobilization list and ensuring mobilization success.  This position is charged with the responsibility of producing projects on time with excellent quality and meeting or beating budgets. This includes but is not limited to onsite guiding and crew training, teaching personnel to represent the Company in a professional, productive and safe manner.  In addition to leading and teaching, the Site Foreman will work alongside the crews at all phases of a project; leading by example.  It is also expected for the Site Foreman to continuously teach technical skills and knowledge about the installations, equipment and methods to the crew, and ensure crew members have opportunity for growth.  Job site duties include, but are not limited to pre-planning with the Superintendent, excellent documentation and communication, quality control reporting, employee time tracking, prevailing wage conformance, and equipment operation and maintenance, etc. 
     A good Foreman will focus on making crew members look good to Project Management Team and Project Management Team look good to the customer.  
     
    REQUIREMENTS
     
    1. Licensing/Registration/Certification
                Required: Valid UT Driver’s license
                Required: CDL Class A with HAZMAT endorsement
                Required: Current OSHA 30 certification
    Preferred: Industry Technical Training
     
    2. Experience
    Preferred 3-5 years minimum in Highway Construction, equipment operation, and team leadership.
                                        
     
     
    3. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
    Demonstrate mastery of all position skillsets and higher. Understanding of construction trades and sequencing.  Must demonstrate safe equipment operation, problem solving, leadership & administrative abilities, and oversee training of crew members.  Must be able to communicate effectively, be organized, detailed, and keep the company’s best interest in mind.
     
    4. Physical
    Body Positions: May be required to be bent over, extended, prone, or any number of physical positions that might be out of the ordinary for “normal” working conditions.
    Body Movements: Including but not limited to: bending, lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing, kneeling, walking, hoisting.                
    Body Senses: Must expertly use all 6 senses: sight, touch, listening, taste, smell, common, and gut and to remain present and cognoscente of everything around.
                
    5. Mental
    Mathematical: Construction math required.  The Site Foreman must be able to figure area, quantities, coverage rates material (mil) thicknesses, weight tolerances etc.          
    Language: Extensive written and verbal English is required.  Spanish is preferred. 
    Mechanical: Must be mechanically oriented.  Have personal tools and the ability to use them to teach and install jobs.  Must know how to teach equipment repair and assist in same.  
    Spatial: Must have good spatial orientation and be aware of moving vehicles on the highway and personnel around equipment while operating.  Must be able to integrate into a system and perform required tasks with equipment safely.  Must learn how components of a project (including materials as well as installers) fit together. Continuously coordinate job site activities while multi-tasking.
     
    6. General Qualifications
    This position is subject to ProTech’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
     
                High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Day to day working conditions will vary from an office environment to significant drive time to job site environments.  Jobsite conditions will not be climate controlled. Jobsite conditions might include but are not limited to: excessive heat, excessive cold, wind, moisture, dust, noise, solvent and other uncomfortable conditions.  Night and weekend work will be required.
     
    DUTIES AND TASKS
     
     
    DAILY
    ·         Communicate with the Site Superintendent and the Project Manager routinely to get all necessary information for respective projects.  
    ·         Follow provided checklists from the Superintendent and coordinate pre-mob & mobilization with correct materials, sundries, equipment, crew etc.  Verify all necessary materials and equipment are accounted for prior to mobilization.
    ·         Continuously coordinate crew members and activities to maximize production, profitability and safety.
    ·         Constant quality control monitoring during installation.
    ·         Continuously monitor onsite project safety.
    ·         Oversee and perform toolbox meetings.
    ·         Ensure that production is within contract & change order scope. Also monitor for the potential need for change orders.  Do not perform work without written authorization from the customer.
    ·         Coordinate and seek approval from the Superintendent or Project Manager for any expenditure: materials, equipment, temp labor, overtime etc.  Final authority shall come from the Project Manager.
    ·         Ensure that all crew members represent ProTech in a safe, professional manner performing all daily tasks efficiently and profitably within published ProTech protocols and systems.
    ·         Continuously train crew members on installation methods and techniques.
    ·         Coordinate with Superintendent & Warehouse Agent regarding material and equipment needs/status.
    ·         Communicate project info and project needs to the Superintendent for shop staging system for the following day.
    ·         Review daily project schedule information by email after 5:00 p.m. and coordinate with crew members.
    ·         Documentation of hours and tasks performed by each crew member to ensure proper pay scales are met (when Davis Bacon Wages apply).
                
    AS NEEDED
    ·         Attend onsite project meetings.
    ·         Assist the estimating department with field takeoffs.
    ·         Conduct material/equipment training onsite.
    ·         Report system violations to the Director of Operations.
     
    MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
    ·         Project profitability, efficiency, quality control, schedule.
    ·         Interaction with the online schedule system.
    ·         Leadership and training record.
    ·         Equipment maintenance.
    ·         Housekeeping.
    ·         Communication abilities.
    ·         Feedback from subordinates.
    ·         Training and enforcement of ProTech policy, procedure and systems.
    ·         The presence of or lack of system violations personally and or from crew personnel.
    ·         Safety record
    ·         Customer/ manufacturer feedback.
     
    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 
     
    ·         In the absence of the Superintendent, the Foreman reports to the Project Manager.
    ·         The installation crews report to the Foreman.
    ·         All disciplinary actions shall be reported directly to the Superintendent, who will process information to the Director of Operations and Human Resource Manager in writing.  Copies shall be given to the Project Manager for information purposes.
     
    AUTHORITY:
     
    The Site Foreman has the overall authority to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position, consistent with established Company policies, good industry practices and sound, ethical business judgment.  This includes providing information, material, support service, tools, hardware, or anything else required to perform the work within the established limitations.  The Foreman has stop work authority and a duty to report and unsafe practices to a supervisor.
