Director of Billing & Accounts Receivable

2020 On-site is seeking a Director of Billing & Accounts Receivable, who can optimize our business processes to collect and manage our clinic’s revenues from payers.  In this role, you will be responsible for all coding, billing and accounts receivable processes.  You will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of RCM team, in addition to streamlining and scaling effective processes across several markets as we continue to expand. Role & responsibilities:

  • Oversee 2020’s revenue cycle function in its entirety, including management and mentorship of our Revenue Cycle Manager 
  • Manage the process day-to-day to maximize cash collections through diligent and timely monitoring of all open accounts receivables balances
  • Manage patient eligibility checks and ensure patients are accurately verified by prior to their appointments 
  • Responsible for the patient collection process including account balance accuracy, timely billing, and follow-up.
  • Partner with our Chief Medical Officer to create and implement scalable processes and tools for coding, billing and accounts receivables
  • Ensures EHR system (Uprise) integrity for the revenue cycle function
  • Prepares detailed month end close process and financial reporting related to revenue cycle process 
  • Develop expertise and thorough understanding of our EHR software; design and conduct training for all systems users on an as needed basis 
  • Serve as resident insurance “expert” by educating and training all relevant team members on various insurance plans and terms
  • Effectively collaborates and interacts with all departments including sales, customer experience, client success and our retail (Eye Care) teams

Skills & qualifications:

  • 7+ years in managing medical coding, billing and/or accounts receivables, with at least 3 years of people management experience
  • Has a true passion for and a deep understanding of medical insurance, practice management systems and its processes
  • Previous experience vision insurance strongly preferred, but not required
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills, with a knack for identifying issues from trends and properly triaging as needed
  • Highly self-motivated and independent; can effectively prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced computer skills, including prior experience with EHR systems 
  • Knowledgeable and adheres to all HIPAA privacy rules 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required  
  • Able to work at our Boston HQ (sorry, 100% remote is NOT a possibility)
