Finance Manager

Productboard is a fast scaling company operating both in the Czech Republic and United States. We are looking for a person to help us tie everything together and keep structured and organized finances. The FM will oversee all Accounting functions for productboard including general accounting (both in CR and US), billing, A/R, A/P, financial reporting, tax, budget allocation & administration for functions within the company and commission administration. 

We need a person who is not afraid to rise up the the challenges presented when managing finances for multi-national company. While experience with US finances and GAAP is a huge plus, it is not a hard requirement, as productboard would supply mentorship from the best contacts in Silicon Valley that would help you get up to speed. 

In detail, the responsibilities and challenges you would face are:
Overseeing all activities of the accounting department including the month-end close process, financial reporting, payroll and cash management for both CR and US entity, which would also include:
  • Serving as the key technical accounting resource for productboard
  • Preparing the company to be audit ready, and oversee audit for FY 2020
  • Ensuring complete and accurate tax compliance and tax accounting in conjunction with a 3rd party provider
  • Controlling expenses, taking a critical eye to make sure we’re maximizing company resources

Establishing and maintaining corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure conformance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations. You would:
  • Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level, and timeliness of reporting
  • Ensure that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls are maintained

Bringing accounting in house — currently being handled via firms in the US and CZ. You would build, manage, and lead a finance team in Prague. You would also:
  • Set priorities and goals for the department, hire and mentor the accounting team
  • Temporarily oversee the contractor’s work until you hire an in-house accountant you would closely work with

Building scalable systems to support our growth
  • Oversee transition from Quickbooks Online to an enterprise class ERP system ( e.g., NetSuite or Intacct)

You would be also part of FP&A, you would:
  • Partner with business leads to understand and explain financial variances vs. plan and forecast
  • Assist in preparing board materials

We are looking for a person who has:
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in Big4 Audit
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position that included full responsibility for managing finances of an organization
  • Perfect knowledge of European based IFRS principles
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or ACCA certification (or similar)
  • Acquired demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ambition and dedication to build up a functional finance team and processes for multi-national company
  • Great communication skills as you will be a collaborative business partner adept in building cross-functional relationships to drive business results
  • Perfect English - excellent professional written and verbal communication skills

What can get you ahead of the curve:
  • Experience with US GAAP is a plus, but we are willing to get you up to speed
  • Experience with working in SaaS/B2B environment is a plus
  • Experience with setting up your own ERP level accounting systems, such as Netsuite or Intacct
