The role:
As the Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for creating a high performing quality testing program as well as selecting and leading QA engineers throughout all phases of the software development testing cycle. In this role, you will coordinate efforts within an Agile environment to ensure that ProctorU products meet or exceed organization/industry quality standards and end-user requirements. Upon program establishment, the QA Engineer creates test plans and writes automated tests for assigned components of the software product, executes those test plans, and performs bug tracking and management in a rapid, agile development environment utilizing Scum principles. QA Engineers are expected to collaborate closely with the design team to foster excellent usability and to replicate customer environments while helping to create and implement quality processes and requirements.
The things you’ll do:
- Generate detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans
- Write unit tests and automated tests in our native language (Ruby)
- Help manage and support testing processes
- Develop and implement product quality standards
- Devise innovative ways to define and continually improve QA and testing processes
- Perform QA testing to ensure tasks are completed as documented and verify that changes are bug free.
- Demonstrate visible progress on work and cross functional behavior to ensure quality, on time delivery.
- Engage and consult with Software Engineers and Product Owners to communicate risks and issues and clear impediments that have the potential to impact the delivery schedule.
- Create, contribute to and maintain product documentation, ensuring high level of specification completeness, quality and consistency.
- Actively engage in the review of documentation and critically assess the existing standards and documentation set, fostering continuous improvement.
- Incorporate approved improvements into the specification and documentation set on an on-going basis and update standards.

- Experience in a software product/vendor environment
- Fluent in common testing tools:
- Selenium
- Gurock (testrail)
- Jmeter
- Jira
- Owasp
- Experience with the most popular testing patterns
- Experience identifying, interpreting, and defining business requirements, translating into systems requirements and leading the process to visualize and document
- Ability to work well in a tight niche team environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent engineering or technical disciplines required.
