Prime Occupational Medicine is looking for a Paramedic to join our team in Carlsbad, NM! This position is scheduled on an as needed basis.
The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency care and administering medical care for patients who are being moved from an active injury scene to a hospital or being transferred from one hospital to another. The Paramedic possesses excellent patient service skills, is able to work well under pressure and make quick decisions about patient health.
a. Work closely with the dispatcher to determine the best way to respond to all calls based on the company’s priority system
b. Respond to emergency calls, assess patient condition and make critical care decisions quickly
c. Handle non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary
d. Collect pertinent patient care data and transfer that data to a medical professional based on state guidelines
e. Complete paperwork in legible handwriting for all patient calls
f. Maintain a running inventory of medical supplies on the response vehicle and makes purchases when necessary
a. New Mexico Paramedic License (we will cover the cost of this if needed)
b. High school diploma/GED required
c. Must possess a valid state drivers license
d. Current CPR and First Aid certifications
e. ACLS course completion required
f. Ability to remain calm and deliver quality care in high-pressure situations
g. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
