Position Overview: Today, Praetorian is making significant investments in terms of financial and engineering resources to develop a radically new customer experience we call “Security-as-a-Service” to provide customers with a unified, efficient, and data-driven security platform. We are looking to add the right individual to our growing team supporting the next wave of cybersecurity products and solutions. As part of that investment, Praetorian is VP of Product. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for setting product direction.

From software hacking to hardware hacking, we help secure everything from cryptocurrency exchanges and space telescopes to autonomous vehicles and the electric grid. Core responsibilities:
  • Define the product strategy and develops the product roadmap
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis and define core differentiators
  • Act as the “voice of the customer” to the rest of the organization
  • Lead requirements gathering from the various stakeholders
  • Distill customer requests into a prioritized stories list
  • Create cross-company product management processes
  • Attend scrum meetings including stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos
  • Lead backlog grooming to decompose and estimate stories
  • Work with the design team on mock-ups and delightful user experiences

Accountable for:
  • Ensuring the product development team is working on the right things at the right time

Required qualifications:
  • 10 + years of product management experience
  • Prior experience in a high growth, venture funded tech startup 
  • Demonstrated success launching world-class products end-to-end
  • Experience with B2B SaaS go-to-market strategy
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired qualifications:
  • Prior cybersecurity experience a major plus
  • Experience with Git, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Experience with agile/scrum development
  • Experience with modern tech stacks and development practices
  • BS in business, marketing, computer science, or computer engineering
