Vice President, Engineering

Position Overview: Praetorian is seeking a seasoned technologist with a successful track record of taking products to market. As an Inc 500 | 5000, CyberSecurity 500, and Austin Fast 50 Award recipient, we are seeking an individual that understands the professional and personal growth attached to this opportunity and who has the corresponding internal drive to maximize it. 

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for building out our product portfolio. As the VP of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best security engineers in the world who hail from organizations such as NSA, CIA, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, Idaho National Laboratories, Redhat, Sun Microsystems, Symantec, McAfee, Microsoft, and Google.

Minimum expectations:

  • Strong leadership and entrepreneurial qualities
  • Proven track record of taking a product to market
  • Proven track record of leading development teams
  • Prior experience in start-up environments
  • Identify opportunities and define the product's road map
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class development team

Desired skills and expertise:

  • Experience in scrum development methodology
  • Executive level communication skills
  • Familiarity with Micro-Service Architectures
  • Familiarity with GCE, Kubernetes, Docker, Google Protobufs
  • Familiarity with React, Redux
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
  • Security domain experience a plus
  • Bachelors in computer science or engineering 
  • Masters in computer science or engineering a plus
