Staff Security Engineer

Position Overview: The team provides security assessment and advisory services to the Fortune 500 and venture-backed start-ups with a focus on internet of things, critical infrastructure, medical device, containerization, and web & mobile technologies. Most of the technical work you do on a regular basis will involve working on assessments that align with your interests and expertise.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead technically challenging projects with complex technology stacks across multiple modalities
  • Interface with clients, establish technical competency, and deliver complex projects
  • Provide technical and ground support to sales team for client inquiries and engagement proposals
  • Coach and mentor junior resources in improving their technical and soft skills
  • Create novel technical content that enforces Praetorian's reputation within the security community

Minimum experience:

  • Prior security consulting experience
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Offensive security and penetration testing experience
  • Background in core software attack patterns
  • Background in core hardware attack patterns
  • 10+ years of cyber security experience

Desired experience:

  • Track record in vulnerability research and CVE assignments
  • Track record presenting at major security conferences
  • Software development and hardware design experience
  • OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, or OSWE certifications
  • BS or MS in computer science or engineering
